Help Please! Urgent
Hello:
I am having some problems... I am a TV Production student and I am using my school issued Sony MiniDV Digital HandyCam.. I want to edit my video on my home computer so I went out and bought a 1394 Firewire Card (Belkin FireWire 3-Port PCI Card)... Now I installed that on my computer... and I apparently installed a USB Driver for my Sony DCR-TRV27 MiniDV HandyCam... Which sony said is the only driver they have for these cams. Well I have a variety of editing programs such as avid, pinnacle ect... When I plug the firewire cable intot he camera Windows Finds new hardware.... (AV/C Subunit), but it does not find a driver, or software to use.... What do I do??? How do I fix it.... and Oh Yeah I dunno but Under Network adapters in my device manager it says.... Network Adapters... 1394 Net Adapter..... then under the IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controller its says OHCI Complient IEEE 1394 Bus Host Controller ....
But how do i do this so I can transfer fotage from my camera to my computer with windows recongizing all hardware a where do i get drivers for these items???

Intel Mod
Hello, and welcome to WinDrivers.
If you come back to this post and are still having a problem, a likely cause for this problem over the AV/C Subunit is misnaming of some files that can occur during setup of the Firewire card.
Look in the Windows\Inf folder, and if there are two files called 'msdv.inf.1' and 'msdv.pnf.1', re-name them so they don't have the .1, they should be called msdv.inf and msdv.pnf
I don't remember if you need to re-boot, but if this is what you find on your system, when it is corrected, you should be able to download from the camera with the editor. (I believe the camera is supplied with a version of Pinnacle.)
The USB driver you installed I think will be to allow a Memory Stick to be accessed as a removable drive for still images.
Hope this helps.
