DOS 6.22 & Windows 98 (orig)
Can someone tell me how to load both DOS & Win 98 without using Commander or a similar program? I've been told they don't like each other very much.
Thanks

Which dos version? Best simplist answer is clean hard drive install, dos first if the version you want needs fat 16 make sure you don't convert to fat 32, otherwise you should have no problems. you need to format your drive from a dos boot floppy, if its a large drive you may need to partition it using FDisk as fat 16 partitions can only be so big and still be able to install 98, this is to do with cluster sizes. If this answer doesn't help enough or you need more clues, I will post a full "how to guide" as there are a lot of things you need to know.
Incidentally why do you want DOS as a seperate entity? DOS compatability mode is good in 98 once you have any drivers present correctly. Do you want some of the old dos comands like filefind(ff) etc, if so there are some shareware extenders that you can add to the Dosstart.bat file that starts the DOs box that add all those old commands for people who need them.
