Maybe if we turned up the heat a bit...let's make this a fear factor competition...Mayet, would you eat crickets and swim with cockroaches to be a mod? Would you jump from a plane inside a car? Would you poor hot wax all over your naked body...oh boy! I'd vote for you too...

I'll vote for the Major, seems like a decent guy with a good reputation on the boards.

Geezer
Can someone explain to me what good individual forum mods will be or are infact ?
Its no good having forum mods who can't stop folks just going & posting in another is it ?
The only reason I've been bleating about wanting more mods is so that when folks want to find one they can & maybe to help Noo out a bit as often when its more matters of opinion she gets stuck with the call, as she's here most & its not always appropriate to sit about & wait for replies from everybody else who's maybe asleep anyway ! (time zones are an issue)

Ordinary mods are the way the board should be run.
The forum mod should have an interest in the forum and effectively run the forum and feed information to the supermods/admin.
Supermods were needed here because there were not enough forum mods. 3 supermods ensure that there is always cover for a forum mod who is busy/absent/asleep.
It would be best, taking your comments to their end conclusion that forum mods are best, with supermods able to come in to cover as and when. There is no reason why a supermod cannot also be a forum mod.
This is why I asked for the member nomination and the forum s/he would mod.

No doubt you were expecting this 'rebuttle' - but I've got to say that this has clearly not been the case.
I mean that as no personal slight or accusation against anyone whatsoever, you all put in lots of effort ! - but the one factor not considered in all of this as a 'requirement' is Attendance/availability - & that's where I know there's flaw in your logic as events have bourne that arguement out 'far too much !' ..
Maybe lots of individual forum mods would help, I think its overcomplicating matters, its not like these mods will have that much to do that much 'except exceptionally' as the ones we have now can do everything 'easy' 99% of the time - its just that other 1% (as always) that seems to take far more dealing with, than it should.

MegaMod
Let's get one thing straight. NooNoo's original post had to do with looking for Mods and which Forums should they mod. We aren't looking for MegaMods or SuperMods or any such thing. We are looking for people who are particularly knowledgable in any of the Tech areas such as Win98 or the Printers Forum or the Office Forum to name a few. These forums rarely have controversial than which version works best under given circumstances or which is preferred: Intel or AMD. Hours are flexible but time online will be required on a somewhat regular basis.
These should be the requirements when looking for a Mod.
We are NOT looking for somebody to mod the Tech Lounge or Politicos. The Admins, MegaMods, SuperMods, any other name you wanna-call-us-Mods will handle those Forums.
Maybe this will halt some of the bickering going on. Maybe.

So what did you lot not understand about doing the seagull thing???
I am going to remove ALL the comments which were NOT asked for in this thread to another thread entitled Nominations debate.... continue there.
The idea was, that since so many were vocal in objecting to trip, to provide a way of allowing the membership voice to be heard about who should be a mod... that is who should be a mod, not who should not be a mod.
I did ask for nominations not criticism... if memory serves, so far trip is the only one to have actually read what was asked for and replied correctly.
Provide a member name and a forum you think s/he would be suited to... is that really so hard???
Further nominations can be pm'd to me and I will add them to the list on the first post.
Thread locked.
