ATI Radeon 9800 & ViewSonic VG910s
I installed the ATI card shortly after Doom3 came out and it worked great with my regular 19" monitor. I just purchased a ViewSonice VG910s flat-panel and connected it via the DVI connector. I cannot get these two to play well together. If I install the newest ATI drivers and software, the screen goes crazy (blocks flashing, ect.). If I use anything but the Plug and Play monitor selection (in Windows XP), I get bright pink vertical lines behind some of my icons, and a vertical line following my cursor. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can get functional drivers? Thank you.

Did you Get Drivers with the viewsonic Monitor ?
I had an older 17" viewsonic and would not fill the screen fully until
the viewsonic driver was installed .
Hope this helps

Bad graphics card
I did get drivers and nothing was right until I took out my 9800 card and put my old Radeon 7000 back in. Thank you so much for the quick response. I am now asking for a warranty replacement.

Was this ever resolved by a replacement? I have nearly the exact same issue with a Radeon 9600SE card I just installed two days ago.
Pink vertical lines behind some buttons, a vertical line that follows the "I-beam" mouse cursor around (but not other mouse cursors).
I also have these lines through the screen during the initial ASUS boot logo graphic, long before Windows 2000 loads, so I don't suspect a driver problem. The white Windows 2000 "Loading..." screen has BIG red vertical lines through it, full screen.
Sometimes when I reboot, my monitor (Samsung 191t, 19" LCD) says "Video mode not supported" as the system goes into the Windows desktop. The screen goes black and I have to shut off the monitor and turn it back on and everything is fine.
I've updated to all the latest drivers. No change.

I found my answer as to why I had the pink vertical lines in menu buttons and a few other places...
In my display properties, I had the fonts set to "large fonts". I did this because at 1280x1024, my monitors native resolution, things were just a bit tiny for me to see when set to "small fonts" (the default).
When I set this back to "small fonts", all the pink lines and other oddities disappeared. Strangely, the fonts look no different in size from when it was set to "large fonts". Maybe that was part of my problem.
