Connection Drop
Started noticing this the other day when I was playing games.
My game would disconnect, then I would get kicked from TS/Vent. Then my messangers would time out. BUT, I was still able to surf the web. I tried disabling my connections, re-enabling them, unplugging our router, and lastly I switched the connection I used (my motherboard has 2 ethernet ports) The ladder seemed to fix my problems till today. Now switching ethernet connections won't even work.
One thing my roomate did was change the port used by AIM so now AIM works. Other then that, I'm basically in the dark. If you have any questions, please ask.
I want my Black Wing Lair loot!

Who is your service provider?
Could be that your ISP is locking down ports.
What modem/router are you using?
Are you in an education or a business enviornment?

I highly doubt his ISP would port block -- they learned that a long time ago, its pointless and its too expensive to run an application level firewall.
It's possible they're moving things around. RR in my area just consolidated DNS servers a month ago ...then they replaced a router which angered me (instant 800+ms to get to ANYTHING). Check your ISPs site to see if there's any maintaince things going on, or give them a call.
For S 'n Gs, try unplugging your modem, then your router, plug your modem back in, wait for it to come up and turn your router back on. This also ties into upgrades to your ISP (if the signal carrier changes, there's a chance yours didn't pick it up ...it happens, a lot, but this is usually good -- faster downloads )
