    Thoughts on this error?

    I cannot open embedded excel items from within Word or Outlook.

    Microsoft Word can't start the application required to open this object. An error occurred and this feature is no longer functioning properly. Would you like to repair this feature now?

    I click yes, it goes to installing application for quite some time. Upon it completing I try to open the excel sheet again and it still does not work.

    But there is no Norton crap on this machine?

    Help? This is Office xp SP3. thanks.

    This tool: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/ is useful for fixing quite a few weird problems with MS Office.
