That's a problem with land claims. I might find somewhere back in my ancestry in Britain, land that was taken from an ancestor in some war or invasion, and think I'm deprived because it's not mine. But my life now is what I make it. After all, my ancestor could have taken it from my neighbour's ancestor 200 years earlier. Maybe it should be my neighbour's land...

We all came from the same organic sludge and have clawing and snapping at each other ever since. Survival machines for our particular brand of DNA, we are compelled by nature to be "selfish" and consume as much as we can, yet have the divine ability to overcome our natural, physical natures and be generous, kind and selfless. If you can't tell, I really like Richard Dawkins' concept of the selfish gene and have incorporated it into my Judeo-Christian belief system.
Someday, we will be able to let the past lie still and move on to better things, but I don't see that day coming any time soon. We are so much nicer as individuals than as groups of people. Perhaps if simply shot all of the politicians and lawyers, life would improve immensely. Or, perhaps Adams was right and coming down out of the trees was a big mistake.
I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet.

Yes, but we people of the elongated skulls must stand united in the face of the round skulled ones' claims of American primogeniture. Da Polynesian folks is our brudders, yah? I think we should turn the casinos over to the Possums and Bisons, whose lineages clearly predate any one elses.
Didn't Johnny Cash invent the Folsom Point?

Kennewick Man at Time
Posted this in IDPOTD some time ago.
It is easy to see that forensic recontruction is an interpretive art form rather than an exact science. This Kennewick man looks nothing like Picard.

As in all things archaeological, more subjective than totally objective. However, I have more faith in the clay reconstruction built on a copy of the original skull, than I do in the artist's drawn/painted interpretation.
It'll be interesting to see how things eventually shake out, as the Clovis barrier has been totally destroyed and all options are once again open. Kon Tiki!
