    Norton ghost 10 no exe

I had backed up my old drive with norton ghost, 9 DVD`s it took to back it up
I had went into bios to boot sequence, selected cdrom as first boot.
I receive message system halted right off the bat. Any Ideas would be
    helpful.

Well I use Acronis TrueImage, so I'm not clear exactly how Ghost does it. But unless Ghost makes the first disk of a set bootable, with a restore application, the disks will just be a compressed image of the drive contents. You'd need a bootable Ghost CD (I use a bootable Acronis CD), or to connect the drive to a system with Ghost installed to restore the image. If the first disk should be bootable, but you get the "Operating system not found, system halted" message, it may be corrupted...

Have you been able to do a restore successfully before? Will the system boot OK from a known good bootable DVD?

Ghost 10 requires you to boot from the Ghost installation CD to restore your image. Is that what you're doing, or are you trying to restore directly from the backup disks?

Yes thats what the cd is for
It boots you to an enviroment where it asks you where the backup files are
    IE: harddrive,dvd`s,cd`s
Show it where the first 1 is and away it will go and it will put it back wherever you want.
