Just for my own peace of mind: Has anyone ever actually gotten Proxy Server 2.0, PPTP with VPN and a dial-up ISP account ever to work together?

I have installed, several times, all of the components MS says are required:

SP4 (or 5)
IE 4.01
Routing and remote access
Option Pack with IIs4
Proxy server II
& SP again.

If you have ever gotten this to actually work. . . please let me know before I start scouting locations for my cliff jump.

2 main problems. Netscape mail incoming and outgoing and connect in with VPN from a 95/98 machine.

VPN can actually hit the server, (I get an audible beep) but the connection is refused with a Dial-up-networking error on the win98 side.
