Are the sites all ones you log in to?
What message are you getting?
What version Internet Explorer?
Can Firefox open these sites?

Most likely causes:

The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
its so annoying as i can access alot more sites its just silly ones i cant get into. like hmv and facebook .

If both Firefox and IE can't open them, something odd is going on.... much like I had a couple of days ago - I could not reach a forum or my email and it magically cleared up a day later.
Are you on Sky broadband by chance?

Right, so what anti-virus and anti-spyware and firewall software do you have? I am thinking you got those pages into the "bad page" files
