CDRW isn't recognised as CDRW
The CDRW drive in a clients machine (Mitsubishi Diamond DAta 32x16x10) works fine as a CDROM drive, but none of the CD Writing software detects it as a valid CDRW drive, even the software that came bundled with the drive, Nero 5. I am lost as to what could be the problem? The machine was infected with multiple copies of the Pe Fun love virus, but from what I have read about this virus, it isn't destructive and shouldn't effect the CDR software? I have also downloaded from Nero a copy of the ASPI drivers and folloed their instructions on installing them, but this hasn't worked. Additionally, I checked for the presence of the Windows ASPI drivers, APIX.vxd, Winaspi.dll, Wnaspi32.dll and aspi2hlp.sys and all files are present. The machine is running Windows 98 SE. Any help appreciated, thanks.
