Is there any reason I shouldn't disable ACPI?
Here and there, I've seen suggestions to disable ACPI in BIOS (which for Win2k would require a complete tabula rasa) as it could help free up system resources (besides which, there's still plenty of devices out there that are not ACPI-compliant).
Really, I don't need it. I generally turn off power saving features and don't let my computers go to sleep. Is there any reason I shouldn't disable ACPI the next time I reinstall? Are there reasons I should?
