CD-Rom Installation probs - pleez HELP!
This is a bit of a long-shot as it may not be my CD Drive, but I'm desperate!
Basically whenever I am trying to install a large (100mb+, usually) program from the Cd drive the computer freezes and a have to manually reset. Now this has happened on various CDs and at various points in the installation (u can't imagine how annoying it is to get to get to 98%, then freeze...) so its not consistent and not a prob with the CDs themselves. The problem has happened since I bought the computer...also, it never crashes at any other time - only when installing large programs from CD. I usually can get the programs installed, but only after several times (e.g. usually 20+ when I tried to install FF7 game)..
Erm..the drive is a 32x LG CRD-8320B, the Motherboard is a Daewoo S7 jobbie (CB581x-VI) . 64mbs of RAM. K6-2 400 proc. Trident 975 Video card (+voodoo2). Oh and a ESS 1869 Soundcard...
Any help would be great!
Thanks
