Got a customer unit. An upgrade to an ABIT mobo with an INTEL 866, nothing out of the ordinary. He had ADSL NIC, and a Modem installed, so I figured that with a new board we would delete the ENUM key and start the devices from the beginning. Interestingly enough, on restart the system found nothing - no modem, no NIC, no ATI video, etc. Hmmpt I said. We reinstalled WIN98 and all went well until the end when I received:

Invalid link dynamic link call from NWREDIR (04) * 000000D0 to device "0487", service 6 Windows configuration invalid, run setup again blah blah blah. Did that -- no fix. Finally able to "Y" past the error and got the ATI card installed, Sound installed. No other device are in the machine (NIC or MODEM). I still get the message, but can "yes it" past to Windows and everytihing "runs fine" until a reboot and I get the same error.

Any ideas?????

Sorry for the ramble, but I wanted to be complete.
