Ok this has been my problem. My system will lock up totally and uterrly in 3d games. Some times it only takes 10 minutes, some times it takes several hours.

But it allways happens.

I think I have narrowed it down to the following. Tell me what you think?

A) The gforce2 card is unstable and overheats/dies

B) The fact that I have half of my things on IRQ 11. *I CANT GET THEM OFF*, I have tons of free IRQs, I have done everything possible to try and get win2k to re-set what irq it puts stuff on. Its dumping it all on 11, even when i tell the bios to config the irqs(it doesnt put them on 11 mind you). Could this cause lockups? Wouldnt it be more regular lockups and in more than 3d games if this was the issue?

System specs:
AMD 1333, ABIT KT7A-RAID, soundblaster 528, 256megs SDRAM. Sony CD burner, some generic DVD player. Ultra ata 100 Hard-Disk. Linksys network card. Gforce2.

win2k pro service pack2

*notice* I had a similar problem when I first installed my gfx card in my old PII 450. I installed a new heatsink fan on the PII and the problem went away. Could it be that the gfx card is simply defective? or could it be an irq problem. or a win2k problem.
