Heres my goal ... set up two computers one with win2k (Client) and a second with WinME (host) (i know winME sucks) and share the internet ... very simple and easy thing I thought .. but for some reason I cant do it .. Long story as to why I want win2k client and winME the host but i need it this way

Heres my setup:
2 100TX netgear NIC with crossover cables to both system's with same model card (no router, no hub, just straight connected), both computer are FAT32 .. security is not a issue

Heres the problem:
Its all set up in the win2k system i can go into a winME system and do whatever i like I have file sharing on everything (c:,d:,e:,f:, (share cd roms to), however when im at the winME system going to the Win2k system its a no go says it doesnt have premissions, (also I can print from the Win2k to WinMe with no problems) I have set up a user accound on the win2k system for the winME machine, but with the no premissions im unble to use it

I have also gone and made new shares in C: and D: on the win2k machine so the dirves can be shared from Win2k to WinME, so as of now all four drives on winME are set to share and all 4 drives on Win2k are set to share.

Network settings:
Win2k Machine: Client for ms networks, file and printer sharing, Intenret Tcp/IP, NetBEUI protocol I have it set to ip address 192.168.1.2 with gateway 255.255.255.0,Workgroup is workgroup

WinME Machine: client for ms networks, dialup adapter, ethernet adpter, NETBEUI -dialup adapter, NETBEUI - ethernet adapter, TCP/IP - dialup adapter, TCP/IP - ethernet adapter, file and printer sharing for ms networks . I Have ip address 192.168.1.1 with gateway 255.255.255.0 Workgroup is workgroup

The reason for the manual mode is the slowness and forever it takes loading windows when its on auto, now does anyone have any suggestions on this .. what my problem is and how to fix it
