Changing Subnet Mask on a VPN Connection
I am trying to hook a laptop running WinME into a network via a VPN connection. I have hooked a Win98 and a Win2000pro machine up, so I believe the server running the VPN is set up correctly. The Laptop connects and authenticates but no resorces are available. When I run winipcfg it has valid IP but a subnet of 255.0.0.0. Which is not correct. When I go into Start/Settings/Control Panel/Network the TCP/IP setting for Dial-up #2 (VPN Support) Does not have a tab to enter a static IP, Subnet Mask, Gateway. When I go into the properties on the VPN Dial-up connection, on the networking tab, under TCP/IP button I can enter a static IP but not a subnet Mask. I am guessing I will need to edit the registry for this but cannot find it in there. After 5 1/2 hours on the phone with Microsoft Tech support They gave up and said they didn't think it could be changed. This has to be controlled somewhere. Anyone know where?
