I made an upgrade on a Jetway 663ASPRO board and replaced a TBird 900 w a TBird 1400 proc. I have a Vantec 6035D copper Heatsink and 5 fans total in the system. The 900 had been running under 110 degrees F. which is allowable. The 1400 runs just under 120 degrees F at idle and pushes 130 degrees F when doing digital video. I know that the tBird 1400 is noted for running hot, and that 130 is allowable according to AMD, but it seems rather hot to me. I an considering the Vantec CCK6040H, the Thermaltake Volcaino 9, and the Alpha PAL 8045. Any suggestions as to which would be best. BTW, I already have one of the attachment prongs broken off of the CPU Socket and have the 6035 retained with a homemade bolt system using bolts and insulated washers through the Motherboard, a plate which fits over the fan and springs and nuts holding the heat sink in place. that is probably better than the single clip included, and I would like to use the bolt mount, which makes me lean toward the Alpha PAL 8045.
