I'll set it up first and then give you all the problem.

Dell Dimension L800cxe
Windows Millenium (Arrrggg!!! I know, I know!)

Brought in for repair with an explanation of "locking up and internet connectivity problems". I've figured out the problems they were having, but now I have a different problem. One of the things we do with all machines that come in is to do the Windows Updates before the customers get their machines back. On this machine, when I try to access Windows Update (doesn't matter how I try to get there), I get redirected to a "Thanks for your interest in Windows Update" page (which is the Windows Update URL with /en/thanks.asp added on).

Normally it wouldn't bother me, but I just got another machine in (a built computer) with Windows 98SE that is doing the same thing. "Thanks for your interest in Windows Update". Has anyone ever seen this before? I have been unsuccessful in finding a resolution to this anywhere (even on Microsoft's Knowledge Base). Please help me before I lose what little hair I have left.
