Well, I have ALWAYS suggested that people buy the correct replacement cartridges for their printers rather than using the ink refill kits but las month I failed to follow my own advice in order to save a few bucks. I have an HP 940C and I refilled both the color and black cartridges. My problem came with the black cartridge. You have to pull out a rubber seal from the bottom of the cartridge, fill the cartridge, and then plug the hole with plugs provided with the refill kit. I purchased mine from www.myinks.com. Anyway, when my black ink began to run out, I pulled the cartridge to refill it only to find oput that the replacement plug had fallen out. Now, in the right-hand side of my printer there is a pile of black goo. My printer has been printing fine EXCEPT for envelopes and it will eat about every other one.

What can I use to clean this mess out?

Does anyone here advocate the use of refill kits and if so, which one{s} are the best?

Thanks,
Jeff
