Windows Logon Problem.
I have a machine in the shop with a log on problem. When Windows 98 boots, it goes straight through the log on process. If you click on start, you get "Log Off..." as if someone had cancelled the log on. If you click "Log Off...", Windows goes back out to the log on screen. Click O.K. and now the machine is logged on. I just can't figure out why it's going past the log in to begin with. I've removed all components from Network Properties and re-installed them after a reboot. I've removed all *.pwl (password list) files from the computer and removed their references in system.ini. I've tried changing between Windows Logon, Microsoft Family Logon, and Client for Microsoft Networks. All to no avail.
It wouldn't bother me personally, but, when it goes by the log in into Windows, none of the users passwords are saved for internet access or e-mail. It's an older couple and they are unable to comprehend the whole "log off to log on" part. They have a hard enough time remembering how to turn the computer on much less remembering their passwords.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
