Can't access folder after reinstalling XP
I had to reinstall XP on my computer. I did not reformat my hard drive because I had files, mp3s, pictures, etc that I had not back up on a cd rom yet. (I reinstalled because Windows lost the drivers for my CDRW and DVD ROM). After the installation was complete, I went to access the old folder that all of my files were in. All I get is an "Access is denied" something about it not being accessible. I can see the folders if I boot up the "Files and Settings Transfer Wizard" I can browse the folder. The path of the folder was C:\Documents and Settings\Solo. Of course the user is me Solo. I thought I should be able to view the contents as long as I had administrative rights. What's wrong here? If I can't get access to that folder, I might as well have reformatted the whole drive. Please help. Thanks in advance.
