Well, if this helps any, I built a new pc for my sister with an ECS motherboard, and it runs beautifully. My sister is your typical female pc user....use & abuse. Since she's had it, I never hear any complaints from her and it always runs smoothely whenever I visit from time to time.
Yes, ECS and PC Chips are low-end quality, but I have 3 computers with PC Chips & ECS motherboards which work fine for me. If you're going to use the pc for typical day to day use, then it's fine. If you expect more from these motherboards, then you had better know more than switch on & go, and don't expect a wedding cake when you're using crap for Crisco.
In conclusion, if you treat a PC Chips and/or ECS motherboard the same as you do your car by performing the routine maintenance, then you should be fine.
