I recently installed a Hercules Prophet 4500 64MB in a P3 1GHz running on an Intel i815 chipset with 256MB PC133 RAM running Win ME. This machine is a Compaq Deskpro EN so I don't have a mainboard type. The general performance on the card is great with the exception that it seems to lose sync with every monitor I've tried at 800x600. I've used a Viewsonic E790, Compaq P1100, and Sony CPD-200ES. All of these monitors have the correct .inf from the manufacturer installed. I have tried every revision of the Kyro II driver I can find (currently running newest 7.114 from Hercules). Only way this runs is if I manually set the monitor to a standard 1024x768 SVGA in Windows with a refresh of 72hz. Has anyone else seen this and if so, do you know of a solution? The card has has also done this in my Athlon 900MHz on an Asus A7V-133 running VIA 4in1 4.32 and the same monitors, again with WinME. Thanks.
