Yeah that's what I read (I think it's in the link I posted). Since they are not true hardware raid (ie with it's own bios and all that stuff) then it just turns it into a controller.

About software raid. How well does that work? I'm not worried about overhead I just want to know that they system will still run after a drive fails an all's I or anybody else will have to do is pop in a new drive and have the raid restored.
