Mouse Not Detected
I got a second-hand Sony VAIO Slimline, Pentium III, using Windows 98SE. I needed to reformat. I have the 2 original recovery disks. The first one worked fine, but on restart, I get the message "Windows does not detect any mouse connected." I have tried plugging it into PS/2 port that the keyboard was plugged into, but that didn't work. For some reason the keyboard works fine. Why won't Windows recognize the mouse? I didn't even get to the second CD to install the Windows. Also, I might mention that the keyboard and the mouse are not the originals. Is there a way around this? I can't get any further on my re-installation. Would really, REALLY appreciate any help. Thanks so much.
