Ahh .. language 'differences' I expect .. so I don't think that it is permissions then as we've tried pretty much anything to do with that ..
Err I can find lots & lots of Linux messages about this particular file & driver (no windows ones though !).. all of them effectively saying faulty '.inf' associated with it, they are saying to not install 'bcmwl5.inf' but to use 'bcmwl5a.inf' to install it instead ..
Are those files present in the download ? you might try manually installing maybe the 'other' .inf ?
