HDD failure after Disk Manager 2000 no detect recognize
Hi folks,
sitting here yet 4 days to install a IBM IC35L080 80GB HDD on a Compaq Despro PIII, 500Mhz Windows98se as a slave. The HDD was running on a PI, Windows95 as secondary master.
The PI System couldn't recognize the 80Gigs, so i used Disk Manager 2000 to fix this Problem.
Now that i try to install this HDD on the PIII, it does not show up in the bios anymore, no matter how i switch the jumpers of the HDD or the position as primary ,secondary, master or slave. Instead i get the compaq error code "1782 - Harddisk Controller Failure"
The HDD sounds as if it wants to start spinning, but does not have enough power.
When i try another HDD on both controllers it is recognized.
When i try the 80GB HDD on a PI System the HDD is recognized.
Can n e 1 please give me advice?
Thanx in advance
