I have a problem with my Hercules Game theater XP sound unit. I had been using it in an Asus A7V8X-X board with an AMD Barton 2800+ and 1 gig of ram with WindowS XP Pro SP1, and all was well. I recently upgraded to a Soyo Dragon Ultra Platinum with all the rest transferred from the Asus Board. The problem is this. When I install the drivers for the Game Theater (modified Crystal Fusion chip set) all is well. Everything works as it should. When I restart the system the next day, Windows comandeers the drivers and installs generic Crystal Fusion drivers, which don't work. I have the latest drivers from Willamont (6.9) and the uninstall utility which sometimes works to reinstall the drivers. I am registered with Willamont and have sent them an email describing the problem. They have not yet replied. Does anyone have a suggestion. I do music arranging and recording, and the standard size Midi Ports and the multiple RCA phono jacks on the breakout box are really nice. I could use the onboard audio, which I am told is not bad. I would, however have to rearrange some connections such as a MIDI connector on the stick Port (I have one of these), and a couple of Phono Jacks with an adaptor to connect to the Aux audio input port on the board. I also have a Midiman 2X2 Midi adaptor which is controling a couple of other Midi devices. They work fine. I am also considering a Turtle Beach card, but none of these include standard audio and MIDI connectors like the Game theater. None of the Creative cards use standard connectors, either, as they all use 1/8" stereo phone jacks for in and out. Any suggestions?
Sorry for the rather wordy post. Thanks
