PCMCIA/Cardbus locking up system
I have a Dell Latitude XPi CD, with a p166 (aka M166), and have been having trouble with a couple network cards I've bought. One's a Trendnet PC100-BUSR, the other is an AT&T wireless card. I don't care about the Trendnet card, but I'd like to get the wireless card to work.
The problem is, when these devices are recognized and start to send any kind of data, the system locks up. I've tried Win2k and 98SE, both have the same problems. I can use a 33.6 modem and another 10/100 network card with no problems, although the 10/100 card's dongle is fubar.
So, do I just need to update my Cardbus drivers/firmware or something? They're somewhat hard to find, for such an old system.
BTW, I'd buy a new laptop, but I'm going to be going to Mexico for work for a month or two, and would rather bring this old POS, and not worry about it getting stolen.
