programs on local disk
hello ppl
My computer is partitioned into two drives:
C: (system) and E: (local disk)
Up until now ive been using my E: drive to store all my music files and as a data store in general.
The thing is my e: drive is about 3 times larger, and has lots of space left to install programs, in comparison to my c: drive.
Ive never actually attempted to install any programs on this drive before because i didnt think this was possible.
However after having read a few posts in these forums I tried with a small adware program.
I transfered the installer to the e drive and extracted the files to the local disk and.. the program ran fine when invoked.
Id liked to ask if this is the case in general?
ie If i continue to install on the local disk e using the same procedure described above, are MOST programs likely to run without any troubles?
In 'general' because - Ive noticed that i cant change to the e: drive from the command prompt. Im thinking this may cause some installation issues in cases where the program requires some manual configuration.
Or is there a way around this as well on systems with a partitioned hard drive?
Id appreciate your input
thanks
