Intel Mod
Heat...and my ADSL modem
Well, it's a corker today - don't know the outside temp, but the air conditioner is having trouble keeping inside the house under 30C (86F). We had 43.5C (110.3F) here on New Years Day, and just saw on the TV that they're expecting 43C (109.4F) at the Tennis (Australian Open) in Melbourne, 300km south of here...
And my ADSL modem (Speedtouch 530) is showing signs it might be getting the bad caps they suffer from. It's been dropping the USB connection repeatedly for some weeks. The last couple of days I've sat it over the fan in my laptop stand so it runs much cooler, and that's almost stopped the dropouts.
Maybe time to get a wireless modem/router...
