Defrag and chkdisk problems
I have been experiencing the following problems:
- Prompted to chkdisk on each start up which does not complete but stalls the computer during process 2 of 3 requiring a hard reboot
- Defrag will not run unless I "run" chkdisk /f and in doing so I get the following message: : cannot check disk because the volume iin use by another process
- cannot restore or use last known configuration with out the process failing.
I would like to know how to locate all processes that are running that would cause this error while running chkdisk /f. I know I can look up all processes in the task manager but I don't know which of the processes are inhibiting me to chkdisk /f.
I would also like to know what the following means "correcting error in #0 for file 25" and why ithe processes of correcting said error causes my system to stall.
And finally I would like to know fix my sytem restore to be able to acutally restore to a previous date.
Please note these problems began after installation of stopzilla which during the process installed some AIM items
I would be interested in any manual fixes for these problems. Thank you in advance for your help.
