Hello all,
I have here the above mentioned PC with Windows XP Pro. User bought a large HD, so I cloned her old one over to it. Both SATA drives.
Problem - I can still successfully boot into Windows with the old drive. However, when I try to boot off the new one, I get the message "NTLDR is missing".
Here is what I have tried with no fix:
CHKDSK
fixboot
fixmbr
A Windows repair install does not pick up the Windows partition.
I have a ISO CD of the NTLDR FIX - it will boot into windows after booting from that CD. When I remove it, I get the same error message again.
The drive is a Hitachi - it passes the Hitachi hd diag from the UBCD with no problems.
This is really driving me bonkers. Any suggestions?
