Customer just bought a USB scanner. Didn't know what programs she had to install. I explained what the programs did, and which she NEEDED to run the scanner. "Do I install the 'Browse CD'?"
"No...everything BUT that. That's not a program..."
So, about an hour later she calls, "Where's the power switch? It says it can't find the scanner."
"Ok, I'll come down and show you a bit..."
So, I head down...
"Um...where's the power adapter?"
"Huh?"
"The power adapter. You need the power adapter to run the computer." I notice the box sitting on the chair near by.
I riffle through the box. Hmm...only one packing foam, should be two. "Where's the other packing foam?"
"Huh?"
"The foam that was on top of the scanner when you opened the box. Is it here? Was there one?" I have seen manufacturers forget to ship such things...
"Oh. THAT. That's at home."
"Well, your power adapter is with it. You need that to run the scanner..."
ARRRRRRRRRRRRGH! Shoot me now, please!
