    Exclamation newdot~`1 error on bootup/startup

NewDotNet foistware Error, anybody else come accross this and know if there is a proper uninstall.

If you ever see the newdot~1 error on boot up go to www.cexx.org/newnetfix.htm and it will tell you how to fix it. !! annoying as hell have already seen a few boxes this week with it.

For those that don't know, new.net is an outfit that is providing new internet domains like .inc, .xxx, .law, .soc, etc etc - but in order to do access these domains, a small plugin has to be installed on your computer. 90% of the time this is done without the user's knowledge.

New.net has some info here: http://www.new.net/help_faq.tp#p4 but I don't think it's all that useful.

AdAware available at www.lavasoftusa.com will also get rid of the new.net plug-in. Lavasoft and new.net have been fighting over this since Lavasoft believes new.net to be spyware, whereas new.net argues that it is not.
