Win 95 USB Problem
About three months ago I finished building my new PC and installed Windows 95b and the USB patch that came with the cd. Just lately I purchased a joystick to update my old one and it requires a USB which I though worked. After my system was on I plugged the joystick in and 95 realized it, but when I went to install drivers for it, it could not locate the USB port. I then double checked my devices and found that the prts were working properly then tried re-installing the patch, nothing worked. Does anyone know what to do or have any ideas.

Make sure your USB support is enabled in the BIOS. Also in Device Manager double click on "computer" This will give you a list of all IRQ's and if there are any problems with sharing.

On the USB devices I have dealt with, you install the drivers before you plug in the USB device. Then when windows discovers the device it loads the driver.

While 95B with the patch supports USB to an extent, most devices do not work properly with it or are limited in function. the Logitech USB Mouseman helped convince me to switch to 98 about a year and a half ago. It would work with 95 but only as a two button mouse, no scroll wheel no 3rd or 4th buttons. It would track and click that was about it.
