    Question DVD drive info

I'm looking for a new DVD drive that uses cartridges, kinda like old-school cd-roms used to. So far I've not been able to find anything, so I was wondering if any of you had seen any drives like this.

I have some users that use some software that has 30-some CDs worth of data that they're always swapping in and out of the machine. The software is now available on DVD, which cuts down on the numbers of CDs, but doesn't solve my problem of scratched CDs and broken CD-ROM trays. It would be nice to be able to put the new DVDs in a cartridge so that they don't get scratched.

    Any help would be appreciated!!

Cartridge drives? the only thing I came up with was DVD-RAM drives, which use cartridges

The Toshiba SD-W2002 is an example.

As you can see they are on the expensive side..

sorry if I couldn't be of any assistance.

I too know about DVD RAM (TOSHIBA) who uses cartridges.
    There is more elegant approach...
Buy Large HDD, IMAGE CD's into the HDD and there you have it.
you can use Paragon or Virtual drive (network edition) they are bothe gr8.

    Hope I've helped,
    Gabriel

Yeah, I thought of that gabriel, but I'm not gonna copy 15+ gig of stuff every month when the new CDs come. I just thought it would be sweet if I could find a regular DVD drive that used cartriges.

I kinda thought that those DVD-RAM cartridges are sealed so you can't get discs in and out........

I've also been considering a jukebox setup. Anyone have experience with them? I know they're pricey, but if they work well, then I'm sure it's worth it.

    Question

I have used CDROM-CHANGER (PIONEER) and I think it is not a good solution.
It is Pricey, Slow, Complicated solution.

About copying the data into the drive, a scripting tool will do best.

What data is about - DB? Files? Audio? VCD?

More info - I might have ready solution.

    Cheers,
    Gabriel
