Restore Disks
I work for Best Buy as one of their in-store techs and everyday I have to deal with people screwing up their computers and then dropping them off with me to be fixed because it is Best Buy's fault for selling them a defective computer (wink-wink). Anyways, what I was was wondering was if their was anywhere on the Internet or if someone had compiled a list of Part Numbers for Hewlett-Packard restore CD's. The HP computers come with a restore disk, as you probably know, but on every one there is a part number that tells you what restore disk to use. Right now I have like ten HPs that need to be restored and I have no idea what restore disk to use because they are not marked with the model number, only the part number. If I had some sort of way of cross-referencing them with a list or something, it make my job one hundred times easier.

Amen brother. I feel your pain. I work at the Minnetonka store004, in MN. You can actually call HP and they will fax you a list. With one stipulation, you have to give some kind of identification number. I have had the number TAO'd to me if you TAO me I can TAO it back to you. MY ID: servtecad004.!!!!!!!!!!
