Ever hear of this?
Hey everyone...
My boss is wanting a reliable motherboard that has both the Flip Chip PGA Slot and a Slot 1. I've done a little looking online, but I haven't seen any. He swears he's seen them, though. Any ideas???
Thanks!

there are a bunch of boards like that... but they are usually used in POS systems.... why not tell him to just get a slot 1 board and just use a converter if he needs to put in a socket 370??
PC Chips makes boards with both.

He doesn't trust the converters. He wants a board that will handle a Gigahertz chip so the customer doesn't have to do motherboard upgrades anytime soon.

Sorry Sychophreak, but I cannot reccomend any of the boards that have both slot & s370 on them as they are too unreliable and the customer would only end up changing it anyway if they wanted to upgrade the video card.
Anyway it would make a lot more sense to use a good quality S370 board running the i815E chipset than to waste time & money on these combo boards, as the Slot 1 CPU's are now old hat and the CPU's are now all FC-PGA.

Thanks, Darren...
I'll pass that on and do my best to make sure the boss checks out a board with that chipset.
