Restore AOL Settings
I know I should know this, but it's one of those things that I have neglected to commit to memory (or paper for that matter), because I had to call one of the bright young "techs" at AOL one time to figure it out.
Question: After completely removing AOL from the PC, the Organize folder being saved to the desktop, how do I put it back in AOL after I have installed a fresh copy? I have tried to copy it back to the AOL directory, but the user names didn't show up.
Is there a step by step in saving all user info (address book, favorite places, users) and THEN putting it all back?
Thanks,
Charlie
"Oh Bother," said Pooh, as Windows crashed for the umpteenth time.

Well, I usually just email myself the Favorites by dragging them into and email, and then I copy/paste the address book into another email. If there's a better way, I would love to hear it !

Here is what I do. I just copy the main username file located in the Organize file to a temp folder. After I uninstall and re-install AOL, I sign on again using the main username. After that I sign off. I then copy the file I saved in the temp folder back to the new Organize folder (overwriting the file that is there) and when I sign on again, my favorites, any saved e-mails and my address book comes back.
Hope that helps.
