just look through the history of the posts, i think someone has to ask this question every week, its like going to a feminists convention and asking their opinion on abortion. Its a preference thing. take some time and look up topics before you start them please.

    Currently....
    AMD.
    Faster,
More stable (have yet to see a stable 1Ghz P3),
    avalible now,
    less costly,
    more advanced design,
    etc.

In the old K6 days AMD gave me a bad taste tho. In the P3 days Intel is starting to piss me off with there crappy product that isnt avalible. Had 10 customers want Ghz the day of release. Guess what? I could get AMD's overnight, Intels were 4-6 week, 8 weeks later I see 2 Intels. 3 months later I get the order of 10 filled.

Still haven't seen any 1.13's and AMD gave my company a 1.2Ghz eval chip. I can go look at it, but well we are suppost to get a ton of them in a week.

Stop posting these AMD versus Intel, just go back a page or two and you'll find a couple. As for the BEST CPU, it is without a doubt an IDT Winchip 200. I almost got one working once, it was real fast.

    You probably kidding, Jasonflorida1!
We made awfull mistake buying these about 25 processors few years ago. Now we have few CPUs damaged due to overheating. Rest - works slower beeing compared with Intel 166MMX.In addition - 200mhz version have an error in math. coprocessor. These processors have only one advantage - single 3,52v supply.

As for Intel, I have to agree - this lazy monster produces reliable and fast enough processors. But new AMD processors faster and
    cheaper.

And I have to agree with moderator and other authors - THIS TOPIC IS THE BEST WAY TO UP NUMBER OF POSTs AND WASTE TIME IN USELESS DEBATEs.

I personally have had enough of Intel vs AMD as we can never agree on the subject so I am closing this thread and any new ones that ask which chip is better. Sorry people but until the next generation of chips is released this topic is CLOSED.
