NT Server profile shortcuts messed up on workstations' desktop
I have a WinNT server 4.0 with 50 users on a Domain. The problem is...when the user logs on to the network, their shortcuts on the desktop are SUPPOSED to be C:\programdirectory\program.exe.
BUT, everytime they logon, the shortcuts go to \\servername\sys\programdirectory\program.exe
The users HAVE to use these programs locally, while using the server's database. But, the shortcuts are trying to use the servers' local directories and program *.exes
HELP! FAST AND ASAP!! I keep going back and forth when people log on or log out

I am inexperienced in NT but have you tried recreating the shortcuts while connected on the server? or else can you right click on the shortcut and manually edit the target, and the start in directory like in win98?

unless they don't have the rights to change this, i'm at the limit of my knowledge. have you logged on as administrator and changed them remotely?
