[RESOLVED] Insatlling XP problem...
Ok here is the situation, when trying to install xp, in the pre installation it tells me that theres a hardware problem with the hpt 366 Ultra DMA controller, so XP will not support it....
Whats the problem Xp does'nt even tell me whats wrong...
BTW :The Motherboard is a Abit BX with Ultra ATA/66

Is the Highpoint ATA 66 Controller a PCI expansion card? Or is it intergrated into your motherboard. Either way here are some links:

Try using the Wink2k drivers for WinXP. You could probably install XP and then install the Win2k drivers to see if it would work. OR you may just want to wait till XP is officially released and see if HighPoint releases XP drivers.

Ive downloaded the bios updater to 1.25
but it asks me my Flash EPROM divices seclection...wich i really dont know...
Might the Bios be the problem?

If you are not installing XP to a drive on the HPT controller, temporarily disable it in the BIOS , and re-enable it after you have installed XP. You should then be able to use the Win2K drivers.
