[RESOLVED] Windows 98 Install
Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: I want a CD with a fresh install of Windows 95/98, but without any specific drivers loaded. So, if I goto a customers house and need a fresh install I can format and just copy the complete CD to the blank hard drive. can Ghost do this or something else. Also, how do I make a Windows install without loading any of the Mainboard or other drivers. Thanks in advance!

also, you might find it helpful to register as a microsoft system builder...it gives you access to quite a bit of information

Or the easier and faster way is to set up a barebones system running PCI VGA drivers (and no other drivers, mind you) and then save an image of the HDD (using Ghost or PowerQuest DriveImage) . I use those utilities o make restore CDs for people, before I take the systems out of OEM audit mode (which IS useful...saves me a LOT of reinstallation headaches).
