the way i quit
Ever had one of these days.... let me rephrase that.. one of those 3 month periods cuased by the same customer?, am soory i need to vent about this one. For the last three months ive been reinstalling windows (and customer keeps wanting it done for free, but i keep charging him.) He ask why do you keep charging me, its the same problem you never fixed i dont understand. WHAT!?!?! no i fixed it , its not my fualt your norton Utilites keeps hosing your network settings!?! So today he calls me on the phone (i was just there yesterday, complelty reinstalled the whole netowrk printers etc..) calls me and wants me to come back and do it all again. I was like Well (his name here which i will use john for his name) John , its 2:00 now and your bussiness opens at 8:00 may i ask why you waited so long if nothing worked from the start today. Well it worked a little while.
ME: so when did it stop working?
John: Right after i installed and ran norton untilites windoctor
ME: well this is the same problem you having before correct?
john: yeah
silence as i grit my teeth and try to keep from screaming
30-40 seconds latter
john: hello
me: im here john, just tryign to figure out what i have to tell you to not get you to install norton utilites again.
john: Not install it? never, no way, im keeping it
me: Why all it does is makes you need computer repairs more often
john: But it fixes my windows problems
me: Well is your network working?
john: no ....
me: and was it working before you ran norton
john: yes
me was it working after norton.. ?
john no, but what is your point here
me: jon i dont know how to tell you this but your wasting money, ive reinstalled windows 10 times for you now thats $750 , $750 is alot of money , and you could of kept all $750 of it by not installing norton. NORTON UTILLTITES has costed you $750 may i ask why you love it so much.
john: It fixes my registry all the time its a good program.
ME: can you hold for one second
john: sure
i press hte hold button on my phone and quit my job, people demand to have a network se4tup , i set it up, then they want me to teach them to be a admin for free over hte phone!!!!! WTF i hate my job on days like today
GRRRRRR i feel better

Ditto. You tell a customer that they will have problems if they install a certain piece of software/hardware yet they come back screaming & shouting that is is causing problems!!!! Why do we bother????

Hey, no law against being sTuPiD. If there were, we'd have a whole lot more felons on the loose.
While we're on the subject, if ignorance is bliss, why isn't there a lot more happy people in the word?
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers. We refer to it as politics.

WOW! I have had some redundently stupid customers before, but none that would spend almost a grand to keep Norton Utilities. I wonder wich one of his relatives told him that is was the greatest thing since beer! ROCK ON MAN!

I simply can't convince my worst customer (my own mother!) not to run that damn Norton utility on her P3/600E I built for her a few months ago, because the guy at her computer club "swears by it". And his word is golden, because he's a "network guru". I even offered to install a slower cpu to emulate Norton, but no dice!
