CD Burner Problems
OK, here is a good one. I just installed an Acer CD-RW drives 8X4X32 in a customers machine. They can burn any kind of cds they want just fine except for any cd that is going to contain an MP3. It doesnt matter rather they are using a RW CD or a regular one. Changing the write speed doesnt help either. Any ideas at all.

If they want to play it in a home audio as a music cd, and not an MP3 player, then try using a program like musicmatch to turn the mp3's into wav files and burn it that way. Warning though, when turning an MP3 into a wav it takes up a lot of space.

If they are just burning MP3's in MP3 format... it is no different than any other computer data file.
Are they trying to burn an audio CD?? if so they must first convert it to wav. If they have a software program that converts mp3 to wav, then mp3 to cd audio, and then burns it to the cd all at once... they may receive a buffer-underrun error.
If this is the case... go to download.com and download the freeware version of mp32wav. have them first convert the mp3's to wav files. Then load up their cd burning program and try to create an audio cd.
If this does not work... first convert mp3's to wav, then use the cd software to burn a "cd image" in cd audio format to the hard drive. Then burn the image to a cd.... breaking down the 3 stages into 3 separate steps instead of doing it all at once will help with a buffer-underrun error.
if they are going to use the audio cd in a standard cd audio player. the disc must be written in one session and closed.
but i am totally guessing on what your problem is.... as shawnMt said.... "more info!"

Ahead Nero has a codec with it that burns mp3's without manually converting. I have yet to get a buffer-underun burning this way!

I agree... I have no problem doing this with my system either, but if his customer has a 100MHz with 16MB RAM loaded with a bunch of startup junk, manually converting and doing it step-by-step will help.
The problem is, as shawnMt said, we need "more info!"

HotBurn is great software for converting and burning MP3's for use in a standard CD player. I have yet to make a coaster with my Toshiba burner using Hotburn. The only downside is that Hotburn only "sees" the newest models of burners.

I agree with the above.
I am using the program for the last two years...
Most reliable (and easy to operate).
it also makes good Video CD (done 3 "Projects" with it).
P.s. Panasonic CDR (SCSI) is the best...

To my knowledge, you can't make an audio cd with a CRRW disk, it has to be a CDR disk. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not quite sure about that, might be just with my burner.

You could... but it will not play in on a CD player.
But we are still unsure if this guy is even making an Audio CD or if he is just burning MP3's in MP3 format (as data). again... as shawnMt said... "more info!" - but i think that the guy who started this thread left for Tahiti
