    Post 2 floppies

    dell 466 128 ram 13.g hd zip drive interal

    coputer worked fine for three months then used the evil norton antivirus update

    and there it was two floopy icons and they work as if they where both a drives BUT TRY TO USE THE "B" DRIVE and the pc hangs.
    DONE the device manger thing and wont resolve

    tried the bios nop luck because it only is seeing one drive a

    did the remove then reinstall path no luck

    Think I got them all any other path ways.

    i don't see how nav update could cause such a problem.

    not sure what to tell you... if you are positive nav caused the problem, uninstall nav... but the scenario you described sounds kinda wierd....

    i've seen dell's act wacko if there's a zip or ls-120 in the mix...

    were there any other changes to the system right before and after the nav update?

    freaky... must be a friday the 13th thing. kinda makes ya wonder

    as a side note... there are some friday the 13th viruses out there... but i don't think they do this...

    what happens when you boot to DOS?

    try loading defaults in the bios and then booting up.

    also, try shutting off all drives (a & b) in the bios and see what happens.

    Try turning off "Swap Floppy Drive" in the BIOS. I have seen this type of problem before and that always seemed to clear it up

    not to think that Nav update did it (but you'll never know...).
    Don't use Symantec/Norton* programs. they will Sh^&*t up you computer...

    *(except from norton GHOST)
