    Angry Win2000 and my Maxtor

Here is my problem I bought Win2000 Pro so I decided to load it on a old (thought to be junk hard drive) to see if I liked it before wiping my 98se loaded maxtor 20 gig drive (that has never had any problems) Worked great, so last night I decide to load it on my "good" maxtor drive. Well here is where the fun stops. During install it locked up like 3 or 4 times, finally got it all installed (becuase it starts over everytime you have to shut down, and used it some last night, never locked up again, well this morning , I started downloading service pack 2 for 2000 and after it got it all downloaded, and started installing it, it locked up again, so WTF is going on, the temps are all good, and the drive works just fine with 98 so whats the deal, Any help is greatly appriciated, Im going to try maxtors diag utility tonight on it, and if I have to low level format it.

    Unhappy

Sorry my system is a P3 733 with 256 mb ram, giga-byte motherboard ga-6vx7-4x, I have a sony burner a sony cdrom, and a zip drive all of this hardware was present under 98 as well with no problems, I would guess via problems if the problems didnt start before 2000 was installed and same after installing the via patches after install.
