Cd roms disapeared??? how do i get them back
Both of my cdrom drives will not show up in "My Compter". 1 is a scsi Smart and Friendly burner the other is a IDE Liteon DVD-rom. If i go to device manager i can see both drives, the IDE drive has an error. The properties page has this listed as the error.
" Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."
I ran the trouble shooter wich said to remove and redetect. Wich i did to no avail.
The only thing that i did today on it is install nero 5.5 I burnt a CD rebooted and Whamo no cd drives.
Any suggestions???
I've tried un-installing and reinstalling nero.
Also what part of the registry deals with the CD drives?
Why can i see the scsi drive in device manageer and no in explorer???
I am running Win XP pro.
Thanks in advance for you much valued assistance

I would say at the very least get Nero off, for now. Then start dealing with the "Device Manager". Look at the peripherals involved. Also check your SCSI card BIOS. If you can let me know what OS you have, it may give some insights. That can definately make a differance

Yup,
I ghosted (hahhaha neat word) back to a day ago and all is cool. Still would like to know what caused it.
